Using this picture as an example. I tried to copy the typical character pose used in most visual novels. They usually only consist of the top half of the body in a neutral pose. The expressions change depending on the answers the player gives etc.

Visual Novels
Whilst I attended college, I took as many opportunities as I could to learn about Flash and scripting. At the time I was quite obsessed with visual novels; Japanese games for the computer which tell a story the player has to follow, and then allows them to make decisions to give different endings.

Using this picture as an example. I tried to copy the typical character pose used in most visual novels. They usually only consist of the top half of the body in a neutral pose. The expressions change depending on the answers the player gives etc.

I created a character based on an old concept. Am thinking about writing up a story to go with it. Original image of the concept can be seen HERE.
Received good feedback on this picture;
"Aww, she's brilliant! I love her whole design...especially the ears." ~Amuletstar
"Her eyes came out really nice!" *NormalAddict
"So cute. I love the colouring" ~sn0wangel1
Trying to improve poses. Still not happy with this lazy half body, but I will try better. Colouring is at a neutral stage; I'm neither concerned or impressed.
Discovered a useful brush technique in Paint Tool Sai.
Trying out backgrounds again whilst using the transparency technique I learnt in Photoshop.

Drew for a contest prize. Happy of how the little pokeball came out down there in the bottom right. Gone back to colouring lines instead of keeping them black. Starting to look like more of a water colour painting. Eyes are the main point of my cute style.
Went back to having white backgrounds.

Created 'Kano', a character for a comic story me and a friend are collaborating. Not happy with the pose, although I gave it a good try.

Drew my own version of Yami Marik from popular childrens show "Yu-Gi-Oh"
I love the pose here, although I wish I drew more of Ra (the yellow dragon on the left).
The colouring proved successful; received lots of positive feedback on it (and the picture itself);
"Brilliantly done work. It is very beautiful." *IamTerra
"There's something about this I really like. Overall, I think you did a great job, and you gave the characters your own personal twist. I like it!" ~chibi-seijitsu-chan
"I love how you did his eyes... he looks so forlon.. And absolutely lovely. Still rather mature. I adore it." *NormalAddict

Created an Anime version of the character GLaDOS (from Portal/Portal 2; copyright Valve).
Got an insane amount of positive feedback for this picture. I love it personally, I think the anatomy is somehow decent and the colouring is soft but clear.
Discovered the use of transparency in Photoshop, which is very helpful.
